I know loads of you are gearing up for the Summer Vacation season, and kitting yourself out with a Flip camera and accessories. But do you ever get disappointed by the videos you shoot, do they lack direction?
Here are 10 tips how to make your videos rock this summer.
1.Be clear with your goal? Are you setting out to make a film of your entire holiday, starting with a shot of the airplane? If so, you will end up with a tonne of footage and a big edit job on your hands. That’s fine – but be clear how much time it will take. You might like to consider other approaches.

If you are thinking of getting a Flip for Christmas you’d better get your skates on. Flip Cameras are great for filming your Kids opening their presents, Grandma playing rockband on the Wii and of course at New Year the Flip can easily slip into your party frock (or trousers).
Amazon deadlines are above, today being Sunday there’s still time … just.

See what happens when a Flip Fan attaches their Flip Mino HD onto a kite! Ok so it’s unsteady but what struck me was the level of detail in the snowscape and the excellent exposure for an auto camera.
Being so light (the Mino is just 4.1 oz) and inexpensive means people are willing to put their Flips in unusual places to get some winning shots. You can see the potential for fixing it on your light aircraft, glider or sailing mast should you be mad enough.
I'm a TV Director/Cameraman by profession making Reality and Entertainment TV for channels like BBC1, Channel 4 and MTV. I often self-shoot entire broadcast TV shows myself on high end cameras.
I first bought a Flip camera 2 years ago and it just clicked. I use my Flip Video for all my home, Web and holiday videos. The Flip is economic, shoots high quality footage and is light to carry. Of course there are bigger, more expensive options but as the saying goes: "The best camera in the world is the one you have with you".
Got a question about the Flip? Need help deciding which model to buy? I respond to every question I'm sent!
